The title “Watching for The Morning” speaks to four basic elements of Christian life:
- Our lives are shaped by Sunday mornings where we are met by Christ in the scriptures read, sung, prayed and proclaimed and in the bread and wine “given for you.”
- Our lives are shaped by Easter morning: The grave is empty. Christ is risen. We live watching for the grace, joy, life and Spirit of Easter to be at work in our lives.
- Our lives are shaped by that first morning when God brought forth a beautiful world and declared it good.
- Our lives are shaped by the morning to come when all the earth is redeemed by God’s presence.
We rejoice in life. We rejoice in God’s table. We are nourished by God’s word. We live in hope. These notes will direct our attention through the week to the gifts of God and the Sunday to come. We hope you find it meaningful.
